For now, only face. Somehow the sight area of facial behavior understanding is also speech analysis extracting emotions, but I’m not working on that. You have traveled a lot! Can you tell us a bit more about where you come from? I am from Istanbul, Turkey. My first research interaction and travel abroad was to the US, to Northeastern University. That was my first contact with research, but it was not in computer science but in nanotechnology. It really inspired me to pursue a career in academia or in research. That’s why I applied for a PhD/Master’s combined program in Hong Kong. I went to Hong Kong for more than four years. I was also in Sydney, Australia for four months. Then I came to Germany. Since then, I have been in Germany. Did you move a lot because you love to travel or did you follow the science? I think both. I wanted to see different cultures and different research.
