MICCAI 2022 Daily – Wednesday

Good morning MICCAI! Welcome to the third and final edition of MICCAI Daily for 2022, published by RSIP Vision . What a wonderful week it ’ s been! The satellite events continue tomorrow, but as the main conference draws to a close, we ’ d like to congratulate everyone involved and thank the organizing committee for having us. It ’ s been so good to be back! As MICCAI 2022 concludes, we turn our attention to 2023, as plans are already well underway for what is destined to be another triumphant event in Vancouver . We ’ re planning several innovations, and I (Tanveer) can reveal that for the first time, MICCAI will be multi-track . You ’ ll be able to enjoy the sessions in a more relaxed program, without any reduction in quality, and ask the authors deeper and more probing questions. We ’ ll continue the work to bring the clinical community closer to the medical imaging community. In another first, we ’ ll have a Clinical Chair front and center on the organizing committee, who will go through paper submissions in the main conference that are also relevant for the clinical track. As a systems person, I like to see sound software engineering at work, so we ’ ll be looking at the design of the portal, the website, and how the program is delivered. It will be hybrid, and we want to focus on how that works, although we ’ re keen to see an even more significant in-person population next year. We ’ ve got a stellar team on board, including my General Co-Chairs and long-time peers, James Duncan and Russ Taylor , and a strong Program Chair group, with Hayit Greenspan , Anant Madabhushi , Parvin Mousavi , and Tim Salcudean . All stalwarts in their fields. It ’ s a diverse committee reflecting a truly global event. I (Tanveer) have been watching this year ’ s event with interest, looking for opportunities to learn from what is working well and what isn ’ t working so well. However, it ’ s been great! The facilities are excellent. The presentations are fascinating. We only hope to maintain this quality with the additional flavor of a new cosmopolitan Canadian location! Have a great day and enjoy reading this final issue of MICCAI Daily. Keep in touch by subscribing to Computer Vision News , and we look forward to seeing you again next year in Vancouver!
