Originally from Iran, he studied for his undergraduate degree at the University at Buffalo in the US and moved to Australia for his PhD a year and a half ago. Susann, Arcot and Ramtin, together with Gihan Samarasinghe, organize The Automated Segmentation of Coronary Arteries Challenge event will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 09:00-13:00 (UTC). This article was first published on Computer Vision News. This challenge is focused on reconstructing virtual models of coronary arteries from medical images in an automated way. The current best methods are semi-automatic and ideally require additional manual expert amendment. Instead, here we want to fully automate the process without the need for human intervention which is much more useful when considering large amount of data and of course highly useful for medical image analysis.
