ECCV 2018 Daily - Monday

Daily MONDAY 10 The first Workshop on Objectionable Content and Misinformation featured on Saturday a full room very interested into this new emerging topic within computer vision. Now that fake news is a hot and critical topic, fabricated/tampered media and detecting such modifications has become a cornerstone to assess the veracity of images and videos. The event had three exceptional keynote speakers: Michael Zollhöfer (Stanford), Luisa Verdoliva (University of Naples) and Alyosha Efros (Berkeley) and 6 accepted papers (2 orals/4 posters). After all presentations, the event concluded with a panel discussion where the speakers and the audience touched on topics such as ethics, bad and good usages of fabricated media and options on how to deal with such cases. A great start of ECCV with a new topic player in the arena of CV/ML! Objectionable Content and Misinformation 14 Workshop Full room during the presentation of Luisa Verdoliva Matthias Niessner (left) and Cristian Canton introducing the event.
