8 In order to load a nifti image here, you can click on Import -> Nifti file -> Open (after selection) and it will appear as an object on the left top panel. Then, you can click on the object just loaded and create a representation using either the image stack or image stack volume modalities. The 3d visualization will now appear at the center of your window and you could also simultaneously look at each single slice by going on Create -> 2D View. This will open a panel on the right where through the bottom slice slider and the plane option, one could navigate the image along its 2D planes. Finally, as mentioned before, Eidolon offers the possibility to employ the IRTK tool set for cardiac image alignment/motion tracking through its GUI as well. To do that, one just needs to create a new project (File -> New Project -> Cardiac Motion Project, at the top), and then you can load the data, including meshes, perform rigid registration of different image series or align short stack images, and apply a non-rigid registration through motion tracking operation. A set of useful analysis tools is also available in this plugin in order to obtain bio-indicators by measuring things such as volume, torsion, thickness, strain etc. Conclusion We hope this brief introduction to different registration tools can help the researchers in their quest for the right method. Sometimes, after spending a lot of time downloading and learning how to use a new software, we finally realize that what we want to do can be easily performed by our favorite tool, which we are already familiar with!
