The f i rst , in 2008, for Harald zur Hausen , who was recogni zed for di scover ing that cervical cancer i s caused by vi ral infect ions. More recent ly, in 2014, Stefan Hel l was awarded the highest di st inct ion in science for hi s pioneer ing work in the f ield of ul tra-high-resolut ion f luorescence microscopy. We have to ask: who’s next? Perhaps Klaus or Lena wi l l be rewarded for thei r outstanding work in future years. “That ’s probably going to be Lena,” Klaus says wi thout hes i tat ion. “She’s al ready so famous , so I think she’s going to go for the Nobel Pr i ze!”
