Computer Vision News - June 2016

22 Computer Vision News Event of the Month Machine Intelligence Summit - Berlin We have decided that the section dedicated by our magazine to Computer Vision events should not be limited to a list of venues. Starting with this June issue of our magazine, we will focus every month on one specific event which we think deserves the attention of our readers. The first Event of the Month is the Machine Intelligence Summit organized by RE•WORK and taking place in Berlin on June 29- 30. You can visit the event page with speakers, schedule, topics, registration and venue information here , but not before you read in this interview the very good reasons why Sophie Curtis, RE•WORK’s Marketing Director , thinks you should be there. Computer Vision News: Sophie, in just a few weeks RE•WORK will be hosting the Machine Intelligence Summit in Berlin: “where machine learning meets artificial intelligence”. What will be going on there that we shouldn’t miss? Sophie Curtis: Following the success of our summits in London and San Francisco, we are very excited to organize a new event in that field. Berlin is an exciting place and we look forward to bringing all these people to collaborate with each other. Many events have an academic focus or a corporate focus, so we try to bring together both academic and business audiences , as well as exciting new startups, in a unique mix that allows better collaboration and sharing of knowledge and technological innovations. In our experience, the mix works really well for bringing people together from different areas who would not usually meet. In particular we’ve had great feedback from startups who have made some great connections at our events. “ Many startups that spoke at our events have been acquired by large companies ”
