CVPR Daily - Monday

and so I would say Tiputa Pass in Rangiroa, French Polynesia; or Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea in Australia. There are some really nice dives with whale sharks to be had in Thailand, and of course the Galápagos Islands is an amazing destination, but it’s not one that is encouraging tourism in any way. What I worry about more is not the where, I actually worry about the when. The coral reefs are a fragile ecosystem and they’re shrinking. I hope we get to have many more CVPRs and many more CVPRs with some diving as well! I also like Hawaii! I’ve heard the Solomon Islands are highly recommended. I actually went to high school in Papua New Guinea, which is near the Solomon Islands. At that time, I loved to snorkel in the reefs but I took it all for granted. It’s an amazing place but it’s changing. On the positive side, scuba diving helped me to learn to relax under pressure, and that is a useful lesson for life. You'll have a better experience if you can remember to relax and breathe when things are stressful. I will keep that in mind, while preparing 4 magazines in the next 4 days. Indeed! Thank you Ralph for all of the hard work you do in putting the newsletter together. I hope you will continue to do this for years to come! The community really benefits from it. Best of luck for a very successful CVPR 2021! 13 DAILY CVPR Monday from the General co-Chair
