DAILY Wednesday Editorial with Ramin Zabih 4 Welcome to CVPR! Good morning CVPR! First, some exciting facts. Google Scholar rankings of the most highly cited publications reveal that amongst computer science conferences and journals, CVPR comes out first by an impressive margin! Three papers had more than 10,000 citations each (one had more than 25,000 alone) - an achievement unmatched by any other computer science publication. It demonstrates our growing influence in the field and the rising interest in AI research. As you know, the organizers of CVPR 2020 faced a particularly challenging set of circumstances this year. Having planned for a large in-person conference , we have had to build a virtual meeting on very short notice. In fact, we had little more than five weeks, as the decision to cancel the in- person Seattle event was only finalized last month. For a time, we needed to plan a hybrid meeting, which would have been no mean feat! We have done our best to rise to the challenge .
