Dear reader, Following the success of Boston Vision , last year’s special edition which we dedicated to the vibrant Boston community , we are happy to introduce another special edition of Computer Vision News dedicated this time to the pulsating Bay Area algorithm community . Naturally, we have much to share in this magazine about the many impressive developments coming from Silicon Valley, a leading hub of technical and scientific innovation. For that, we asked twelve companies from the San Francisco area in the field of computer vision and image processing to open their doors and tell us what they do. The result is this fine Bay Vision report, which we hope you will enjoy reading as much as we enjoyed preparing. We know that it cannot give a complete panorama of all that happens in Silicon Valley , but it might offer you some remarkable insights.
