Manindra Majumdar is the Founder and CEO of GoFind.ai , a visual search engine for shopping . They apply deep learning to visual cognition starting with shopping and have begun moving into other industries such as smart cities and gaming. Altogether GoFind consists of 15 people, mostly developers, as well as a team member focused on marketing spread between US, Canada, Singapore and India. They have also worked with Universities for co-operation including University of Berkeley (California), National University of Singapore and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The company has raised their pre- seed funds from Angel Investors in Silicon Valley and currently raising their seed round. It is worth noting how this whole idea started. Prior to GoFind, Manindra worked for another company building search engines. That’s when he realized the power of the search engines. When he gained knowledge about deep learning, the two came together. He looked at all of the different applications of deep learning and realized that visual cognition helps exponentially more than any other method. In terms of deep learning , their training is mostly unsupervised. In the industries in which they work, they don’t need to hand label all of the data. With shopping, they have built a method to collect large amounts of data automatically, push it to training and eventually trying to do unsupervised training . Bay Vision 16 Boston Vision GoFind
